چکیده

In order to make use of and exploit commercially biodegradable protein-based materials, degradation research is essential to provide information pertinent to the basic production and handling properties of such materials. It seems that the experimental methods utilized to evaluate the lag phases of protein films may be applied to other substrates under various conditions. Techniques used to determine lag phases may provide insight into the degradation challenge of maintaining the integrity of materials during use, followed by its biodegradation upon disposal. Chemically modified agricultural materials demonstrate different lag phases prior to biodegradation with lag phases perhaps quantifying modifications. Acclimated (microorganisms which are adapted or accustomed to an environment) and unacclimated microorganisms were investigated to estimate the lag phase times for soy protein-based materials. Before full degradation developed, a lag phase was observed for the acclimated and unacclimated microorganisms with the unacclimated microorganisms requiring longer periods prior to degradation. 2006 Elsevier Ltd. Preparation and Characterization of Pullulan-Soy Protein Concentrate Biocomposite Film

The non-biodegradable nature of plastic packaging has brought about an attention in bio-basedpackaging materials. Edible composite films were prepared using soy protein concentrate (SPC) and pullulan(PUL) biopolymer at five different ratio (100:0; 70:30; 50:50; 30:70 and 0:100) with glycerol as plasticizer bycasting-evaporation method. The thickness, mechanical properties, water vapor permeabil...

Controlling cell adhesion and degradation of chitosan films by N-acetylation.

As part of our ongoing effort to develop a biodegradable nerve guidance channel based on chitin/chitosan, we conducted a systematic in vitro study on the biodegradation and neural cell compatibility of chitosan and N-acetylated chitosan. The in vitro degradation (pH 7.4, 37 degrees C) in the presence of 1.5 microg/ml lysozyme showed a progressive mass loss to greater than 50% within 4 weeks for...

Comparison of chickpea and soy protein isolate and whole flour as biodegradable plastics

The objective of the present work is to compare some different crop products such as protein isolates and defatted whole flours from legumes, as chickpea and soy bean, involved in the molded compression processing to obtain plastics. The present work analysed the possibility of forming new plastic materials with products of chickpea, and soy bean seeds typically from the North West of Argentina...

Physical and mechanical features investigation of protein-based biodegradable films obtained from trout fish waste

Biological packaging material based on obtained proteins from fish waste, are biopolymers that have the capability of biodegradable film formation. Thus, purpose of this research is to study and investigate some of films’ physical features made from trout fish Myofibril protein. The film forming solution containing 1.5%, 2% and 2.5%(w/v)Myofibril protein isolate of 100ml solution and glycerol a...

بررسی خصوصیات فیزیکوشیمیایی و میکروبی فیلم‌های تهیه شده حاوی نانوذرات اکسید تیتانیوم با پایه پلی ساکارید آرد سویا

Introduction: The natural derived biopolymers are highly interested in recent years. These polymers are considering as the alternative for un-biodegradable plastic films. This is due to the low cost and their availability from biodegradable and renewable sources. In this study, the effect of different concentrations of Tio2 nanoparticles on physicochemical and microbiological characteristics of...
